Biogeografic region: Andean, Caribbean, Orinoquia, Pacific. Elevation range: 0–2100 m a.s.l. Native to Colombia. Colombian departments: Amazonas, Antioquia, Caldas, Caquetá, Casanare, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Córdoba, Cundinamarca, Guaviare, Huila, Magdalena, Meta, Nariño, Putumayo, Quindío, Risaralda, Santander, Tolima, Valle del Cauca.
