Epiphytic, with creeping, branched, compressed rhizome that give rise to scattered erect stems, these covered by the leaf-sheaths and mostly 10–20 cm long

Leaves distichous, the blades articulate to the tubular sheaths, usually 5–9 per stem, the lower ones lacking blades, the upper with coriaceous, oblong or elliptic-oblong blades mostly 2–7 cm long, obliquely notched at the apex
