Distribution
About 115 species occurring in the N hemisphere of the Old and New Worlds, with its centre of distribution in E Mediterranean and in SW Asia. Ten species in Iraq.

Achillea (commemorating the Gr. hero Ἀχιλλεύς, Achilles).
